Halal Wedding Catering in Surrey & Vancouver

Halal Wedding Catering in Surrey and Metro Vancouver

Your wedding is one of the most important meals you'll ever host. Every guest will remember what they ate, how it tasted, and whether there was enough of it. If you're planning a halal wedding in Surrey, Vancouver, or anywhere in the Lower Mainland, you need a caterer who understands halal requirements from the ground up — not one who tacks on a halal option as an afterthought.

Last Summer Catering provides full-service halal wedding catering across Metro Vancouver. Our food is prepared in a dedicated halal kitchen with halal-certified ingredients. No mixed supply chains, no shared cooking surfaces with non-halal items. We handle weddings from intimate nikah ceremonies of 30 guests to large reception halls with 500+.

What Makes Our Wedding Catering Different

Most catering companies treat halal as a dietary restriction — something to accommodate alongside vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free requests. We approach it differently because halal cooking is all we do.

Our kitchen operates exclusively with halal ingredients. Our recipes are built around Turkish and Mediterranean culinary traditions. And our chef has years of experience cooking for Muslim families and events where halal compliance isn't a preference — it's a requirement.

That means you're not getting generic banquet food with a "halal" sticker. You're getting food that was designed from scratch to be halal, flavourful, and worthy of a celebration.

Wedding Menu Options

We offer several formats depending on your event style and guest count:

Buffet Service: Our most popular option for larger weddings. Guests serve themselves from a spread of hot mains, rice dishes, salads, appetizers, and bread. Our Classic Turkish Buffet and Grilled Favourites Buffet are both designed for this format.

Plated Service: For more formal events, we can arrange plated courses served to each table. Typically a starter, main course, and dessert with drink service.

Family-Style: Large platters brought to each table for guests to share. This works well for medium-sized weddings (50-150 guests) and creates a warm, communal atmosphere.

Custom Menus: If you have a specific vision for your wedding food — whether that's a fusion of Turkish and South Asian dishes, a Mediterranean mezze bar, or a full lamb roast — we'll build a custom menu around your preferences.

Popular Wedding Dishes

Some of the dishes our wedding clients request most:

Whole roasted lamb with herbs and sumac. Mixed grill platters with adana kebab, chicken shish, and lamb chops. Saffron rice with dried fruits and toasted almonds. Turkish-style manti dumplings in yogurt sauce. Grilled vegetable mezze with hummus, baba ghanoush, and muhammara. Baklava and Turkish tea service for dessert. Seasonal salads with pomegranate dressing.

How Wedding Catering Works

Start by reaching out to us with your event details: expected guest count, date, venue, and any dietary preferences or must-have dishes. We'll put together a proposed menu and quote within a few days.

Once you approve the menu, we handle everything from ingredient sourcing to day-of setup. Depending on your package, that can include serving staff, chafing dishes and setup, tableware, and cleanup.

We recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance for weddings, though we can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines depending on availability.

Service Areas

We cater weddings across the entire Lower Mainland:

Surrey, Langley, Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Delta, White Rock, Abbotsford, and Chilliwack.

If your venue is within the Fraser Valley or Metro Vancouver, we can likely serve it.

Pricing

Wedding catering pricing depends on guest count, menu selections, service style, and any additional services (staffing, setup, rentals). As a general range, buffet-style wedding catering for groups of 100+ typically starts around $35-$55 per person.

We'll provide a detailed, itemized quote after discussing your event. No hidden fees, no surprise charges day-of.

Beyond the Wedding: Mehendi, Sangeet, and Walima

Many of our clients book us for multiple events around their wedding. We regularly cater mehendi nights, sangeet celebrations, and walima dinners. Each event can have its own menu and service style — a casual spread for the mehendi, a more formal plated dinner for the walima.
